Carrie Kabak is the author of Cover the Butter (Penguin Random House), an Independent Booksellers’ Pick, AudioFile Magazine Earphones Award winner, and Quill Award nominee. Her latest novel, Shibby Magee: An Irish Tragicomedy, was featured in Publishers Weekly’s Monthly Spotlight and received a Readers’ Favorite International Book Award for excellence in writing in the Cultural Fiction category.
Carrie's work has also appeared in anthologies published by Simon & Schuster, Atria Books, She Writes Press, Seal Press, and North Atlantic Books. She is currently working on two new novels, Effie Jenkins and Mali Morgan's Summer.
Alongside her writing, Carrie designs book covers for major publishers. She previously worked as an editor and copywriter in publishing, and then for many years as a lead production designer at Hallmark Cards.
An Irish citizen with family roots in County Roscommon, and also a British citizen with roots in Carmarthenshire, South Wales, Carrie now lives in Missouri with her chef husband. Together they have five sons, five grandchildren, two Labradors, two cockatiels, and four freshwater aquariums.
